Do you agree when humans are said to be creatures that have
no sense of satisfaction? It is natural that normal humans will have desires.
But it is also not natural when everything seems to want to be owned and
controlled. But the fact is, there are those who do, and there are many of
them. I've often slipped into a journey that's all about desires, achievements
and clouds. Even having to sacrifice some things to achieve that desire. Even
though there are more important urgent needs, for example; family, keeping
promises to friends, attending organizational invitations and so on.
Unfortunately, sometimes these desires actually prevent us from enjoying this
extraordinary life. From here, I see that I am not grateful enough.
I often argue with myself, my best friends and friends in
the organization about how to live this life properly. Why not measure your
abilities, supporting and weakening aspects? The most important thing is in
accordance with the theory that is believed to be true and always makes excuses
to justify the theory. In fact, in this fast-paced life, we must really know
ourselves, before taking action. If we believe in the concept of cause and
effect, that what we try will definitely produce results, then all desires will
be achieved. But in fact, not a few desires are dashed midway, because of the
lack of supporting aspects, or worse, even slipping into new desires. As human
beings, we still put this phenomenon in a reasonable condition, but we need to
underline that the goals we have been pursuing have always been understood as a
causal dimension, whereas there is another dimension to emphasize ourselves in
achieving these goals. That dimension is the teleological dimension, a
dimension that affirms ourselves about the importance of seeing the goal rather
than the cause and effect that always controls.
From here I believe that it is true that effort will not
deny results, where the effort is truly dominated by the will to achieve worthy
results. It is not merely about effort and endeavor. You see, in the Qur'an it
is mentioned that "God will not change the fate of a people until they try
to change it themselves." From this, it seems clear that whatever goals
and changes we want are actually in our own hands, God provides the facilities
to achieve them.
If you have a child or younger sibling that you want to mold
into what you want, of course you have to think hard about the outcome, will it
be in line with what you want, or is it very far away, especially since humans
have a very dynamic, changeable nature. For example, if a boy wants to be a
businessman, but he never leaves his room and doesn't try to interact with
other people, will he achieve his goal? Maybe, because today the world of
technology is very supportive.
The question is what if he was not supported by technology?
Would he have achieved his goal? From here we can see that the goal is
attempted, not waited for or even contemplated. So that not a few of the
phenomena that occur are idle, not confident, easy to panic, and even infected with
symptoms of neurosis. So are we to judge that this phenomenon is the fault of
various theories? I don't think it's that easy, because theories are also born
from one's experience. It's just that we need to look at ourselves further and
deeper more often. It's easier to control ourselves and really understand what
we're aiming for.
This is the difference between what we see as cause and
effect and what we digest as purpose. Because each of us must have an
understanding of these desires and goals. The most important thing is how we
live this life as it is, so that we can truly enjoy life naturally.
